Juli Wertz

CEO

Juli founded JDM Business Services in 2006 with the vision to serve small business owners who excel in their field but don’t have the time or expertise to maintain the finances of their business. Her career has encompassed 27 years in public, municipal and non-profit accounting as well as being the owner of two small businesses. Juli’s accounting experience extends over a wide variety of industries, including legal, construction, landscaping, restaurant, hair salon, interior decorating, financial services and retail outlets.

Juli obtained her BS in Business Administration/Finance from Eastern Connecticut State University and her advanced certificate in Forensic Accounting from Post University. She is an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified in QuickBooks Financial, Enterprise, Online and Point of Sale solutions. Juli resides in Lebanon, CT with her husband. She is a certified yoga instructor and enjoys spending time traveling and home-roasting her own coffee.

David Bodner

SENIOR STAFF BOOKKEEPER

Dave joined JDM Business Services in December of 2015 as Staff Bookkeeper. He is a native of Branford, Connecticut but has also resided in Chicago, IL and Lake Geneva, WI. He is a graduate of Gateway Community College with an Associate Degree in Accounting as well as Central CT State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in May 2013. Dave has a strong background in the hospitality and non-profit industries having split his time in both since 2002. He has experience helping restaurants from before opening day as well as helping long existing restaurants discover their true costs while taking the time to explain proper methods to use, ensuring client satisfaction.

When Dave is not at work he enjoys a variety of activities including skiing, biking, Washington Nationals’ games, Quinnipiac Hockey games, and concerts. He also uses his past brewery experience to make homemade beer and wine.

Joy Shea

SENIOR STAFF BOOKKEEPER

Joy joined JDM Business Services LLC in February 2014 as a Staff Bookkeeper. Joy has a long career as a bookkeeper with experience in working with small business bookkeeping specializing in property management. Joy is a native of Connecticut where she graduated from Newington High School and Tunxis Community College with a major in Business Management.

Joy currently resides in Newington. When she is not working she enjoys cooking, hiking, oil painting and spending time with her friends and family.

Courtney Hubbard

STAFF BOOKKEEPER

Courtney joined JDM Business Services LLC in October 2020 as a Staff Bookkeeper. She is originally from Pennsylvania and currently resides in Groton, CT. In 2014, she graduated from Keystone College with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, puzzles, time with her son, family, and friends.

Steven Cohen

STAFF BOOKKEEPER

Steve joined JDM Business Services in August of 2020 as Staff Bookkeeper. His career began in Public Accounting working for a large regional accounting firm where he provided accounting, auditing, and tax services to a wide range of clients. After obtaining his CPA license, Steve moved into the Private Sector, working in senior positions including Corporate Controller for privately held and publicly traded companies.

Steve obtained his BS in Accountancy from Bentley College. Steve resides in Unionville, CT with his wife and two teenage daughters. When Steve is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer and tennis player.
